Crosswhite Dismissed from UO Men?s Basketball Team

EUGENE, Ore. ? Junior forward Ian Crosswhite has been permanently dismissed from the University of Oregon men’s basketball team for a violation of Athletic Department policy, head coach Ernie Kent announced Tuesday. Crosswhite had been suspended from the team indefinitely last Wednesday.
Kent added that Crosswhite will remain at the University and will retain his scholarship through his graduation. Crosswhite, who redshirted the 2001-02 season, is majoring in political science and is on pace to graduate this summer.
The Castlecrag, Australia, native averaged 8.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season and started 17 of 19 games. His numbers dropped to 5.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in Pac-10 play.
For his career, Crosswhite played in 83 games and scored 856 points with 389 rebounds. His career averages are 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. His 57 career blocked shots rank tied with Jerry Adams for seventh on the UO career list. Crosswhite’s career field goal percentage of .5239 (296-of-565) ranks seventh all-time at Oregon.
