Men's Tennis Heads Up I-5 For Two Matches

Last Week ? The Ducks split their road trip to the Midwest, defeating #37 Minnesota, 5-2, and the falling to #40 Northwestern, 6-1. Senior Sven Swinnen once again went 2-0 on the weekend, improving to 10-0 in dual play and 17-3 overall. The Ducks also used three completely new doubles teams due to injuries.
Scouting #56 Texas Tech ? The Red Raiders are 5-0 on the year, but none of their wins have come against top-75 teams. TTU is led by freshman and Poland native, Bojan Szumanski, who enters this weekend’s match ranked #26 with a 13-4 overall record. Texas Tech is 2-0 lifetime against the Ducks.
Scouting #15 Washington ? The Huskies are 8-1 on the year with a lone loss to #16 Pepperdine. UW has three ranked singles players ? #37 Christoph Palmanshofer, #25 Alex Slovic and #32 Alex Vlaski. Last season, the Ducks split the season series, defeating UW here in Eugene, 4-3, and losing in Seattle, 6-1.
Season Theme ? The Ducks are 7-4 on the year and in each of the teams’ victories, UO has won the doubles point. In each of the teams’ losses...Oregon has lost the doubles point.
Non-Conference ? This weekend’s match against UW will count for overall record but will be considered a non-conference affair. The match against the Huskies in mid-April will be played with conference implications.
Movin' Up ? With the win over Minnesota, the Ducks jumped eight spots from No. 56 to No. 48 in a recent ITA poll.
