Men's Tennis at BYU This Weekend

This Week ? The #50 Ducks take a four-match winning streak to the Beehive State to take on #73 BYU on Saturday. Last season, Oregon defeated the Cougars, 5-2.
Last Week ? Oregon swept both Saint Mary’s and Eastern Washington, 7-0. Swinnen, Bieri, Schiller, Pickard and Pino all picked up two singles wins a piece.
New #1 ? Swinnen currently sits with 69 career victories ? one win shy of standing along as Oregon’s all-time career leader. Swinnen (69-33) will pass former Duck, Oded Teig (69-53, 1999-03). Kost is currently ninth with 51 wins.
Good Start ? This weekend, Oregon will look to match last season’s 6-1 start.
Doubles ? Oregon has made a point to strengthen its doubles play this season and it has shown. Having used 13 different lineups, Oregon is .500 or better at all but one duo and above .500 at all nine duo’s that have played a dual match. Last season, the Ducks had six doubles teams under .500. Oregon is also one win away from tying last year’s six-win mark at the No. 3 position.
Singles ? Singles play has been equally impressive, boasting a 32-4 dual mark.
Clean Sweep ? Having only recorded one 7-0 victory last season (Idaho, 2-7-04), the Ducks have already recorded five 7-0 decisions through six matches.
