Lacrosse Travels to Bay Area to Take on Saint Mary's

The University of Oregon women’s lacrosse team (3-9, 0-3) travels to the Bay Area this weekend to take on Saint Mary’s (Sat., noon) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Fedetration match. On the strength of ten different Ducks notching goals, UO defeated the Gaels (1-10, 0-4) 19-6 in a non-conference contest earlier this season (3/20). After scoring 10-plus goals in only one of it first five matches, Oregon has averaged 12.9 per game in its last seven.
Freshman midfielder Jackie Spencer leads the Gaels with 14 goals, 17 draw controls, two assists, and seven ground balls. Senior attack Rosy Iaccino follows with 11 goals, one assist, and nine ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Katie Augustine has played all but six minutes this season, allowing 170 goals and posting 110 saves.
Freshman Midfielder Jen May (Davidsonville, Md./South River HS) earned Co- MSPF Player of the Week the week of April 3. May was nominated after scoring five goals in a 16-6 win against Davidson, and two goals in a 21-8 loss against No. 6 North Carolina. May is the team leader in four categories; 30 goals, 45 draw controls, 29 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls. May has started all 12 games this season.
