Senior Duo Rolls Into Pac-10 Invitational Doubles Finals
OJAI, Calif. ? The doubles team of seniors Davina Mendiburu and Ester Bak remain alive at the Pac-10 Championships and will advance to Sunday’s invitational draw finals. The duo defeated California’s Marion Ravelojana and Cristina Visico, 8-4, in semifinal action Saturday.
It has been quite a year for Oregon doubles play. Yesterday, Daria Panova and Dominika Dieskova moved into first place all-time for single-season victories at UO with 23. Today, Mendiburu and Bak tied that mark, improving to 23-7 overall. The tandem will take on Tracy Lin and Elizabeth Lumpkin of UCLA in tomorrow’s finals at 9:30 a.m.
As a team, the No. 27 Ducks (16-7, 3-5) will most surely receive a postseason invitation, and will await their regional destination to be determined the first week in May.
