Bak and Mendiburu Bring Home Pac-10 Invitational Doubles Title
OJAI, Calif. ? Seniors Ester Bak and Davina Mendiburu came away with the Pacific-10 Conference invitational draw doubles title Sunday after defeating UCLA’s Tracy Lin and Elizabeth Lumpkin, 9-8.
"It was really fitting that both these seniors finished the tournament with a title," Oregon head coach Nils Schyllander said. "Davina and Ester have been a big part of Oregon tennis for four years, so I could not be more proud of their effort."
The duo improves to 24-7 on the year, good for first all-time at UO for single-season victories.
The No. 27 Ducks (16-7, 3-5) will now await their probable postseason berth and destination, set to be selected the first week in May. The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will be held May 13-15.
