May MPSF Women?s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week

EUGENE, Ore. ? The University of Oregon women’s lacrosse team made history once again ? this time with its first league player of the week honor.
Freshman midfielder Jen May (Davidsonville, Md.) scored a combined seven goals in a 16-6 win over Davidson and a 21-8 loss to No. 3-ranked North Carolina last week as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation picked her the co-player of the week along with Denver midfielder Stephanie Greenlees.
In Oregon’s first road win of the year, May scored four goals in the first 13 minutes en route to five on the day in a win at Davidson last Saturday. She also had a team-leading seven draw controls and six ground balls to go with two assists. Against North Carolina, she had two goals, two ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers.
The Ducks next play an exhibition game Saturday against the Portland Club Team at Mary Rieke Elementary School at 11 a.m. in Portland. Directions to the school: On Interstate 5, exit at Terwilliger. Cross Barbour Blvd. and continue on Bertha Blvd. Take a right on Vermont. The school is on the left. Turn left into the parking lot. The field is on the back side, down the hill.
