Oregon Launches Inaugural Spirit Tee Slogan Contest

EUGENE, Ore. ? The University of Oregon Athletic Department, in conjunction with the University Bookstore and the UO Office of Trademark Management, has launched its inaugural Spirit Tee slogan contest, UO Director of Marketing Greg Graziano announced Wednesday.
The fan who submits the winning slogan will receive a pair of 2005 football season tickets and a $200 shopping spree at any Duck Shop location.
The first two Spirit Tees, both yellow, were designed internally. The wildly popular "Lightning Strikes" slogan in 2003 was followed by the "All Ducked Out" theme in 2004. The 2005 Spirit Tee slogan contest will take the place of the annual Spirit Button contest, which saw participation wane significantly in recent years.
"We wanted to give our fans something to replace the Spirit Button contest and the Spirit Tee slogan contest seemed like a natural fit," Graziano said. "Our fans have pretty clever imaginations and I anticipate we’ll be getting some very creative submissions from them."
Entry forms are available on line at by clicking here, at any Duck Shop and at the UO Bookstore. The entry deadline is May 1, and the winner will be announced July 22, which is the same date the 2005 Spirit Tees will go on sale.
Like the previous two years, a portion of the profits will go to the UO Cheerleaders and the Marching Band.
