Swinnen and Panova Rack Up All-Pac-10 Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ? More awards for University of Oregon tennis players Sven Swinnen and Daria Panova. In a vote by Pacific-10 Conference coaches, both seniors earned All-Pac-10 honors Friday. Swinnen, ranked No. 9 nationally, earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season. Panova, a three-time All-Pac-10 honoree, earned second-team accolades.
Swinnen finished the regular season with a school record 26-8 singles mark en route to a berth in the NCAA Men’s Individual Championships, May 25, at College Station, Texas. Swinnen also earned All-America honors last season.
Panova, UO’s all-time single-season and career leader for wins, will be headed to the postseason as well. The Moscow, Russia native and two-time All-American will begin play at the NCAA Women’s Individual Championships, May 23, at Athens, Ga. The women’s team will begin play at the NCAA Team Championships, Friday, May 13, when they open against Fresno State.
