2004 DUCK SEASON REVIEW
The UO women’s soccer squad wrapped up its ninth season with a 3-13-3 overall record and a 0-7-2 Pac-10 mark against the arguably the nation’s deepest conference. The youthful squad graduated two seniors ? captains and defenders Christine Mintz (Vashon Island, Wash.) and Kelly Baird (San Pedro, Calif.) ? although it also said goodbye late in the season to starting forward Mele French (Mililani, Hawaii) who had to retire due to medical considerations. The Ducks were hamstrung with a myriad of injuries, especially on the offensive front. Looking ahead to 2005, the squad returns seven starters from ?04 and reinserts into its lineup one of the program’s most prolific scorers, Nicole Garbin, who missed the 2004 season with a knee injury that happened in the spring.
