McCready Earns Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention Award

EUGENE, Ore. ? Oregon’s Chris Dukeminier joined an exclusive club Tuesday when he was named to the 2005 Pac-10 men’s golf all-academic first team.
Dukeminier, a junior from Eugene, Ore., and a graduate of Sheldon High School, becomes just the second men’s golfer in program history named to the league’s all-academic first team. He joins J.J. Astorquia, a first team selection in both 1995 and 1997.
Dukeminier owns a 3.43 grade point average in business administration. He played in 11 of 13 tournaments for the Ducks and was sixth on the team with a 75.1 scoring average. His best finish was a tie-for 34th at the Western Intercollegiate and his career-low round of 69 came at the TaylorMade Waikoloa Intercollegiate.
Also Tuesday, women’s golfer Kim McCready and men’s golfers Eric Hastings and Jay Snyder earned Pac-10 all-academic honorable mention status.
McCready a sophomore from Placerville, Calif., has a 3.13 GPA and has not declared a major. She was second on the team with a 75.4 scoring average.
Snyder, a sophomore from Vancouver, B.C., had a strong spring to end up third on the squad with a 74.0 scoring average. He holds a 3.17 GPA in business. Hastings, a sophomore from Spokane, Wash., has a 3.25 GPA in business and had a 75.5 season scoring average.
