Posted 95 tackles and seven interceptions (110 yds) a year ago to tie for fourth in the state in interceptions last fall and garner first-team all-NorCal Conference and California Community College Football Coaches Association all-Region I attention. Also gathered one quarterback sack, one fumble recovery and forced three fumbles in 2005 to help the Rams finish the year with a 10-2 ledger following a 41-38 setback to Grossmont for the California state title. Team finished sixth in the final J.C. Grid-Wire poll. Clocked with a 4.45 time over 40 meters, his speed played a significant role in school finishing third in the state in total defense (235.0 avg.) as a sophomore. Logged 90 tackles, three interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles in 2004 to earn his first all-NorCal Conference certificate. Also claimed first-team all-league honors as a prep senior at Union City’s (CA) James Logan High School, recording 60 tackles and four interceptions. His father, Willie, was an All-American defensive end at Nebraska in the early 1970s when the Huskers won a pair of national titles before encountering an 11-year NFL career.
