Veldman Joins UO All-Time Weight Throw List

In his second appearance for UO, redshirt junior Colin Veldman joined the school’s all-time list in the weight throw with his second-place mark (58-10 1/4) ? an 8 1/4-inch season best.
The men’s sprint corps also advanced several individuals to Saturday’s finals in the 60, 60 hurdles and 200. Seniors Richard Del Rincon and Eric Mitchum led the way and ranked second in the 60 and 60 hurdles, respectively, with marks of 6.77 and 6.90.
Del Rincon’s time was only .04 seconds off his personal best from ’05 that ranks second all-time for UO and was only .05 seconds off the NCAA provisional standard (6.72). He also ran a .13-second personal best in the 200 (third, 21.20) and advanced to the final.
Mitchum's time also met the NCAA provisional mark by .01 seconds (7.91).

On the women’s side, senior Lauryn Jordan claimed second in the long jump (19-5 1/4), and was only six inches off her school record from ’05 (19-11 1/2).
In the pole vault, junior Emily Enders tied her personal best (12-11 1/2) that she also vaulted last weekend in the Pole Vault Summit and ranked her fifth all-time for UO. That mark also exactly met the NCAA provisional minimum standard of 3.95 meters.
On the track, Searcy was only .02 seconds away from the UO all-time list in the 60 meters prelims (ninth, 8.03), and was another .33 seconds from the equivalent list in the 200 (second, 25.35).
In the latter event, she was followed closely by freshmen Kalindra McFadden (fourth, 25.48) and Leah Worthen (ninth, 25.77).
