Myrhed, Loza Find Themselves Ranked

When the latest ITATennis/Fila rankings were released they contained a pair of Oregon freshmen, Mike Myrhed and Gustavo Loza, entrenched at No. 41.
The pair has been playing together since the spring season began and has collected eight wins to only two losses. Perhaps no win was bigger for the youngsters than their defeat of Washington’s, Jean-Noel Insausti and Michael Ricks, whom they defeated, 8-3, in late February.
The dynamic duo is learning to play together and bridging cultural and language gaps. Myrhed a lanky, vocal player from Sweden brings a style that meshes well with Loza’s reserved methodical approach. Loza learned his craft on the courts in Mexico City, where he was born.
Given their youth, the Ducks can only hope this ranking is a sign of things to come for the Duck pair and that they continue to grow as a team and help lead the Ducks back to glory.
Oregon returns to the courts when they face, Boise State, Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
