SAN JOSE, Calif. ? University of Oregon guards Chelsea Wagner and Tamika Nurse were recognized by the Pacific-10 Conference on the eve of the 2005 State Farm Pac-10 Women’s Basketball Tournament with Wagner earning All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention and Nurse receiving Pac-10 All-Freshman Honorable Mention accolades.
Wagner, a 5-10 senior from Springfield, Ore., averaged 10.1 points per game to lead the Ducks during Pac-10 play. She has totaled a team-high 56 three-pointers this season and ranks fourth in the conference (all games) with a .427 percentage from beyond the arc.
The 5-8 Nurse ? Oregon’s lone freshman ? leads the team with 68 free throw attempts despite ranking eighth on the squad in minutes played. A member of Canada’s Under-19 National Team, the Hamilton, Ont., product ranks second on the team with 54 assists.
Wagner is the 14th Oregon player to be named All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention, while Nurse became the third Duck to earn Pac-10 All-Freshman Honorable Mention.
