Oregon Invitational Saturday High Performance Session Features Elite Mile, 110m Hurdles and Pole Vault Fields

EUGENE ? Saturday afternoon's 2 1/2-hour Oregon Invitational High Performance Session will spotlight three events - a men's 110m hurdles, pole vault and mile - that will showcase several of the nation's and world's top athletes.
Kicking off the afternoon schedule at 2 p.m., the Valley River Inn Men's Pole Vault (2 pm) will feature a pair of 2005 World Championships qualifiers - silver medalist Brad Walker and ex-Duck All-American and current volunteer coach Piotr Buciarski - and another 19-foot American post-collegiate pole vaulter Tye Harvey.
At 4:05 p.m., the Valley River Inn Men's 110m Hurdles (4:05 pm) spotlights four hurdlers who ranked top-70 in the world in 2005 with sub-13.65 clockings. Unattached entrant David Oliver leads the field with a 13.33 personal best that ranked 13th in the world in 2005, and his season best placed him fifth in the USA finale. Duck senior and five-time All-American Eric Mitchum ranked 43rd in the world last season in the 110m hurdles with his season best from the NCAA Championships (13.53), while he broke the school record in the 2004 NCAA finale with his runner-up finish (13.38). This season he ranks fourth nationally among collegians with a season best of 13.65.
