Ducks Headed For Ojai Tournament; Pac-10 Championships

The University of Oregon women’s tennis team will be on the road in Ojai, Calif., this weekend competing in the Ojai Tournament for the Pacific-10 individual women’s tennis singles and doubles titles. The tournament will begin Thursday and will conclude Sunday.
“We are excited to be returning to the Ojai, it is a great tournament and we should have plenty of opportunities to pick up some great wins,” head coach Nils Schyllander said.
The Ojai tournament is one of the oldest and most respected amateur tournaments in America. Pac-10 schools have competed in the event 95 of 105 possible years. Individual championship medals are awarded and the winner’s names are inscribed on permanent trophies on display at the tournament.
Junior Dominika Dieskova looks to do well in the event as she has compiled a superb record on the season, she is currently 30-10 on the year in single play. Dieskova also has compiled a 30-8 mark in doubles action with Ceci Olivos.
Senior Jamie Marshall will also be competing at the tournament in what may be her last appearance as a Duck.
