Scouting Washington: The Huskies have only lost once this year, to No. 2 ranked Ohio State and have defeated four ranked teams this year so far. No. 83 ranked Alex Slovic leads the Husky lineup at the No. 1 position, and his only losses have come against higher ranked opponents. Last year, the Huskies dealt the Ducks two losses on their way to a 20-win season.
Scouting San Diego State: The Aztecs have a 2-3 record on the year, but they have only played one team not ranked in the top-20 in the nation thus far. SDSU opened the season with a win over #14 Concordia University and UC Riverside but have dropped their last three matches. They are led by No. 68 Marcus Dickhardt, who had been playing out of the number two position all year with the exception of one match which he played at number one.
Mortera and Loza Return: Freshman Ric Mortera and Sophomore Gustavo Loza both returned from injury during the Ducks’ last road trip. Mortera went 2-0 in doubles over last weekend, and should return to singles action this weekend. Loza was a partnered with Mortera against Pacific and got the victory in doubles, but fell in singles against the Tigers.
