Ducks Open 2007 Season Friday in the Desert
TEMPE, Ariz ? The University of Oregon softball team opens its 2007 season on Friday at the Kajikawa Classic hosted by fellow Pac-10 conference school Arizona State. The Ducks are slated to play five games over the three-day tournament, starting with Florida at 1 p.m. (MST).
Friday’s other game involving Oregon will pit the Ducks against Long Beach State at 3:30 p.m. Saturday’s games are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. against Cal State Northridge and Syracuse, respectively.
The Ducks conclude their opening weekend at 9 a.m. Sunday against Texas Tech.
Oregon returns four seniors in 2007, although outfielder Kayleen Hudson is expected to miss the entire season with a foot injury and will redshirt. Of UO’s 17 players, nine are freshman and sophomores.
