Duck Hoopsters Honored at Oregon Invite Saturday
EUGENE ? The University of Oregon announced the addition of another group of stars to this weekend’s Oregon Invitational, but you won’t see them running on the track.
During this meet dedicated to great athletes and great performances, the 2007 Pac-10 Men’s Basketball Tournament Champions will be recognized at the Saturday high performance session for their outstanding season.
The high performance session, beginning at 2:00 p.m., will feature some of the nation’s best competition in the sprints, jumps, hurdles and throws. Come cheer for the Ducks on the track and in the field and show your support for the basketball team’s record-breaking season and exciting tournament run.
Friday night’s distance carnival will be truly electrifying this year. See national and international stars in the distances with select field events held under the new stadium lights. Featured events begin at 5:30 p.m. and showcase the rhythmic beats of the University of Oregon marching band and drummers of Dance Africa. The first 1,000 fans will receive free glow sticks to help Light Up Hayward Field!Tickets can be purchased at Hayward Field beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $9 for reserved seating, $6 for general admission tickets, $4 for child/senior general admission, and free for University of Oregon students with student I.D.
