Bristow & Hildal Pace Golfers in Pac-10 Day 2

SEATTLE ?Sophomore Cathryn Bristow and freshman Kate Hildahl paced the University of Oregon women’s golf team Tuesday with their second-round scores of 78 in the 21st annual Pacific-10 Conference Championships at the Broadmoor Golf Course in Seattle, Wash.
As a team, the Ducks remained in ninth place after Tuesday’s second round 316 ? their tourney low score so far.
Bristow paced UO for the second straight day and was tied for 17th overall at 10-over (76-78-154), and was followed by senior Kim McCready (26th, 79-80-159), freshman Felicia Eastick (31st-tie, 81-80-161), junior Victoria Wenslow (47th, 88-83-171) and Hildahl (48th-tie, 95-78-173).
Bristow enjoyed birdies on the par-5 sixth hole, par-3 seventh and par-4 ninth holes and shot par on eight holes. She also recorded bogeys on the par-4 fourth and 10th holes, par-5 13th and 15th and par-3 fourth holes, and counted a double-bogey on the par-4 16th hole.
Hildahl, carded birdies on the par-5 sixth hole, par-4 10th and 16th holes, and parred nine holes. The Tualatin, Ore., native recorded bogeys on the par-4 second and 12th holes, par-3 14th and par-5 18th holes, and also had double-bogeys on the par-4 9th and 12th holes.
Bristow carded UO’s low round for the sixth time in the past eight rounds, and entered the day in 12th place after she shot a 76 Monday in the opening round. Two Ducks ? freshmen Eastick and Hildahl ? each climbed two places on the individual leaderboard.
Overall in the team standings, No. 1 Arizona State extended its lead by one stroke and overall paced the field by seven strokes (297-300-597). No. 12 UCLA climbed one spot into second place thanks to the tourney’s second-lowest round so far (305-299-604), and was followed by No. 15 Arizona (third, 309-304-613), No. 6 USC (fourth, 303-311-614), Washington (fifth, 313-308-621), California (sixth, 312-311-623), No. 7 Stanford (seventh, 309-315-624), No. 43 Washington State (eighth, 317-318-635), No. 49 Oregon (ninth, 324-316-640) and Oregon State (10th, 329-323-652).
The Sun Devils’ Anna Nordqvist also added a stroke to her individual lead Tuesday (68-72-140), and was followed in the standings by Stanford’s Mari Chun (second-tie, 71-73-144), UCLA’s Tiffany Joh (second-tie, 74-70-144) and Washington’s Amber Prange (fourth, 75-73-148).
