McCready Tabbed Repeat All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention
SEATTLE ? University of Oregon senior Kim McCready was honored on the Pacific-10 All-Conference women’s golf team announced Thursday and chosen by conference head coaches.
This week, McCready paced the Ducks with a 24th-place finish in the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, held Mon.-Wed., April 23-25 at the Broadmoor Golf Course in Seattle, Wash.
The Placerville, Calif., native ended with a three-round score of 237 (79-80-78) on the par-72, 6,196-yard course and led UO in the final round Wednesday with a six-over 78 ? the 10th time she has posted Oregon’s best score in her 19 rounds during the 2006-07 campaign.
This season she has led UO in the final standings of three other of her seven events ? the Baja Classic (first, 70-75-145), Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (12th overall, 77-77-72-226) and the Stanford Collegiate (seventh, 71-73-67) ? the latter of which included a school record four-under final round (67) on the Stanford Golf Course.
Two weeks ago, she added another top-10 finish and ranked second for UO in the Indiana Invitational (sixth-tie, 80-70) in her first action in two months after she missed much of the early spring with an injury.
Scoring-wise this season, she enjoyed UO’s best average (74.5), carded the team’s lowest three rounds of the season and another of its five best, and stood 85th nationally ? tops on the team ? in the current Golfweek magazine rankings (74.36).
McCready was also an All-Pac-10 honorable mention pick in 2005, and played in prior Pac-10 Championships in ’04 (21st) and ’05 (37th).
Among current Ducks that have also earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention acclaim, sophomore Cathryn Bristow took similar honors as a freshman in ’06.
