Ducks Pairs Downed in Ojai
OJAI, Calif. - The remarkable doubles pair of Dominika Dieskova and Ana Cecilia Olivos saw their season come to an end Friday afternoon as they fell, 8-4, to California's Nina Henkel and Stephanie Kusano in the first round of the Pac-10 Championships.
The top doubles pair in the history of the University of Oregon, having compiled a career record of 49-23 after their 16-8 record this year, will have to wait and see if they can gain an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
In other action on the day, the other two Oregon doubles pairs fell in invitational bracket action. Sophomore's Carmen Seremeta and Tina Snodgrass were defeated, 8-4, by Daron Moore and Christina Visico of California while Monica Hoz de Vila and Anna Powaska were bested, 8-2 by Arizona's Katie Orletsky and Natalia Toporowska.
The Ducks now must await the NCAA selection committee and a possible tournament birth.
