Ducks Head To PSU Wednesday; Will Honor Senior Trio this Weekend at Howe

On The Horizon
Oregon plays its last non-conference game of the regular season at Portland State on Wednesday with the start time scheduled for 4 p.m.
The 20th-ranked Ducks then return to Howe Field for the final time in 2007. The task will not be an easy one with defending national champion and fifth-ranked Arizona on the schedule first. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on Friday.
Arizona State comes in to close out the weekend on Saturday and Sunday, with Oregon’s last two regular season home games both scheduled for 1 p.m. starts.
Air Time
Live stats for all four games will be provided on www.GoDucks.com. For fans who can’t make it out to Howe Field this weekend, the O-Zone will provide a live broadcast of all three home games.
The games on Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast on KUGN.
Weekend Promotions
During this upcoming weekend the Ducks will be offering reduced ticket prices courtesy of Bi-Mart. Saturday’s game against Arizona State will be a Bi-Mart Family Day, show your Bi-Mart card at the Howe Field ticket window and two adults and unlimited kids will be admitted for $10.
In addition, Oregon Director of Athletics Pat Kilkenny is expected to throw out the first pitch at Saturday’s game.
Hard to Say Goodbye
Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against Arizona State will be the final game at Howe Field for three seniors; Suzie Barnes, Kristi Leiter and Ann Marie Topps.
The trio started their collegiate careers together with Oregon in 2004 and have led the program to the postseason twice, with 2007 still ahead.
This season especially, the trio has made an incredible-difference in the Ducks’ 39-win season, the most victories Oregon has posted in two years.
Barnes, a defensive highlight reel at second base and the team’s leadoff hitter, has already broken the single-season record for runs scored and tied the single-season stolen base record.
Topps leads the Pacific-10 conference with 18 home runs and the mark also broke Oregon’s single-season record.
Leiter has started 52 of 53 games at first base this season and has even made a few appearances in the circle. She leads the Pac-10 with 24 double plays and also has .990 fielding percentage.
