Women’s 5,000m Run:
BYU’s McDonald breaks into the lead, followed by ASU’s Kingma. McDonald sets a fast pace, breaking out to a two second lead though the first split. 74.5 for the leader and 76.7 for the pack.
Lap 2: Stanford’s McWalters in second as the field is already strung out. McDonald stretches her lead to five seconds over the pack.
Lap 3: McDonald still leads by 60m and 8 seconds as she attempts to keep her lead with 9 lapas to go. The pack behind her is strung out as Washington Campbell moves into third with ASU’s Kingma in fourth.
Lap 4:
Lap 5: McDonald still out to a huge lead. McWalters breaks away from the first pack in an attempt to catch McDonald, who still leads by 60m.
Lap 6: McWalters in second, two seconds ahead of the six person pack, including
Lap 7: 8:51 split for McDonald as she still leads by 50m with McWalters closing.
Lap 8: McDonalds lead down to 40m and McWalters closing fast.
Lap 9: McDonald’s split
Lap
Lap 11: Lead down to 4 seconds as McWalters tries to close the gap. Lead down to ten meters with a lap and a half to go. Campbell and Blood still battling for third.
Lap 12: BYU’s McDonald holding on to a 10m lead as they come around the final curve. McWalters catches McDonald with 10m to go and passes her to take the race. Blod outkicks
Men’s 5,000m Run:
Lap 2:
Lap 3: Pack still together as the leaders remain the same. 3:28.5 1,200m as the leaders stay together at the front of the tight pack.
Lap 4: 4:39.1 1,600m split as Baumgartner and Rupp remain in the lead, with Thomas in third.
Lap 5: Pack still together as they come to the 2,000m mark at 5:49.8. Pack seems content to let Baumgartner set the pace, which is slowing. Gomez of Stanford into fourth.
Lap 6: Mutanya from

Lap 8: Running four across as the pack tries to split up. Mutanya and Rupp to the lead at the 3,000m mark. Pack still tight as they come across the 3,200m mark at
Lap 9:
Lap 10: Rupp drops the hammer with two laps to go as the field begins to spread out. 62 second lap as Rupp and a group of four break away from the field.
Lap 11: Rupp breaks out to a 5m lead as the bell lap sounds. Mix of Stanford into second until passed by Ramos of UCLA with 300m to go.
Lap 12-12.5: Rupp takes the race with a 14:08.03 thanks to a 1:59.6 last 800 meters and a 29 second last 200m. Ramos of UCLA finishes more than a second behind with a 14:09.48 and Gomez at 14:11.82.
Heat 1:
Heat 2: Stanford’s Davis out early followed by USC’s Onyepunuke, who passes
Women’s 400m Hurdles:
Heat 1: Hawaii Amanakis out well and into the early lead. USC’s Clarke on the inside into first with 200m to go. Clarke stumbles big over the second to last hurdle, relinquishing her huge lead and allowing a pack led by Shapard of Utah State to take the heat win in 59.92. Egeonuigwe from Riverside in second at 1:00.92. Clarke falls to fourth at 1:00.98.
Heat 2: Three runners lose their hip numbers at the start. SDSU Olafsdottir in the early lead UCLA’s Hill stumbles over the seventh hurdle. BYU’s Grossarth takes the lead and holds to the finish, winning the race over Feight of Utah and UCLA’s Hill, who fought her way back to third.
Heat 3: Leach into the lead at the start. Stewart of USC along with Leach the lead pair. Leach extends her lead into 15m. BYU’s Mazan moves into second place with 100m remaining as Leach looks around at the finish and realizing no one around her was close, pulls up for the victory in 56.86. Mazan in second at 1:00.26 and Kirst in third at 1:00.80.
Heat 4: ASU’s Wallace out to the early lead. Utah State’s Peterson into second. Peterson solidly into second with 50m to go. Wallace with the easy victory at 57.71, Peterson finishes in 59.54 followed by Eze at 1:00.59.
Men’s 400m Hurdles:
Heat 1: Even over the first hurdle. Garlic of BYU and Fredickson of BYU break away a little from the pack. Frederickson over the last hurdle first, followed by

Heat 1: Johnson of
Heat 2: Pierce of Cal and Macedon of ASU out to the early lead, 28.0 200m split. Both leaders breaking away from the pack, followed by BYU’s Turner behind. ASU with 400 to go. Pierce in first with 300 to go. BYU’s Turner passes ASU’s Macedon who is fading.
Men’s 800m Dash:
Heat 1: USC’s Asafo-Agyei and Washington’s Brown out early to the lead at the 200m mark at :26 followed by California’s Gadayan. Pack still tight together as they come to 400m. Leaders unchanged as they set the 54.8 pace. USC still in the lead, followed by Washington. Leaders unchanged with 100m to go. USC and Washington finish easily together as Asafo-Agyei of USC takes the race in 1:49.35. Brown in second at 1:49.42 and Gadayan of California finishes second at 1:49.72.
Heat 2: Stanford’s Garcia late to line, causing disruption in timing of first attempt. Second attempt false started by USC. Third attempt at start clean as Cunningham of USC takes the early lead. Garcia moves into the lead followed Solomon and Cunningham of USC guy. Garcia with a 52.1 split at 400m in the lead. USC racers gain ground on Garcia with 200m to go. Solomon into the lead with 50m to go. UCSB’s Emmon and BYU’s Dorais move past Ciunningham who pulls out to the outside and finishes fifth. Solomon wins with a time of 1:49.62.
Women’s 400m Dash:
Heat 1: ASU’s Durham and SDSU’s Pencil out well, Durham well in the lead as they hit 200m. SDSU’s Pencil and UCLA’s Wisdom move into the lead with 100m remaining, Pencil edges Wisdom at the line as Wisdom tightens up a little.
Heat 2: Stone of SDSU into the lead off the line. SDSU in the lead at the 200m mark. Northridge’s Goodwin in the lead with Stone neck and neck. Oregon’s Baker in third. Goodwin gets the heat win in 53.89, followed by Stone at 54.29 and Baker of Oregon, the only racer to finish smoothly as the leaders locked up a little, with a time of 54.90.
Heat 3: UCLA’s Lacey out strong, making up the stagger on Hasson of USC, Lacey into the lead at 200m. Williams of ASU moving up, dead heat with 100m to go. Hasson and Turner of California edge Williams at the line, Hasson with the victory in 53.84, followed by Turner at 54.43 and Williams in 54.50.
Men’s 400m Dash:
Heat 1: Utah State in the lead off of the first turn, USC’s Anderson dropped out at the 200m allowing Washington’s Harcourt to take the lead. Utah State makes a move in the last 100m to attempt to take the lead, but Harcourt holds him off easily for the heat victory.
Heat 2: Larry of USC out well with Goldberg of LBSU. Larry leads at 200m, Gordon of ASU moves up at the 200m mark along with Oregon’s Dillon. Larry leads by 5m, pulls up at the end as he crosses for the easy victory, in 46.81, followed by Gordon at 47.11 and Dillon in 47.24.
W 100m Dash:
Heat 1: USC’s Rodriguez followed by Martin in a tight pack the whole race until Rodriguez takes the lead with 10m to go, finishing in 11.40, followed by Martin at 11.66 and Branker of Long Beach State at 11.74.
Heat 2: Stanford’s Davis and USC’s Onyepunuka out of the blocks together ahead of the pack, Onyepunuka gets to the line first with a time of 11.51, followed by Davis at 11.56 and San Diego State’s Solomon at 11.62.
W 100m Hurdles:
Heat 1: Out of the blocks, Pac-10 Champion Candice Davis shows her burst, Davis all the way from start to finish, winning in 13.05. Second place to Peterson of Utah State who breaks away from rest of field in last 25m and finishes in 13.64.
Heat 2: Lodree of Washington leads from start to finish, after breaking out well. Lodree in 13.28 followed by Clark of USC at 13.48, who edges Johnson of ASU at 13.49.
Heat 3: Pickler of Washington State and Searcy of Sacramento State break out to the lead after 30m. Pickler edges ahead with 20m and drops the hammer to take the victory in 13:31.
M 110m Hurdles:
Heat 1: Out of the blocks, field even until Northridge’s Ross and California’s Mack establish themselves with 50m to go, over the final hurdle Cal’s Mack gets a final burst and edges Mack at the line with a time of 13.83, Mack finishing in 13.87. Williams of Washington State finishes third.
Heat 2: Out of the blocks, Oregon’s Huske gets out first. Kai Kelley of USC takes the lead with 40m to go. Kelley matches his PR with a 13.76 followed by Reed of UCLA in 13.94 and Taylor of USC in 14.02. Huske sets his PR, finishing fourth with a dive, in 14.02 as well, but edged by Taylorfor third.
W 1,500 Prelims:
Heat 1: BYU’s Clark out to the early lead. Stanford on the outside in second setting the pace with BYU. Arizona in third as they come to the 500m. Weber State makes a move into second as they go through 400m in 70.6 seconds. BYU and Weber State with Stanford in third. Arizona even with Stanford for third as they go to 800m at 2:21. Leaders still the same. Field spreads out as five runners remain in the lead pack. Stanford moves into second with 400m to go. 3:31 1,200m to go. UNLV’s Browning takes the lead with 200 to go alongside BYU. Riverside’s Martinez makes a huge move on the stretch and assumes the lead, takes it to the line in 4:22.87. UNLV’s Browning and then McGill of BYU third.
Heat 2: Fast pace to begin the race as Stanford’s Follmar, followed by UCLA’s Bohanon. Stanford’s Lambee takes the lead at the 400m mark. The two Stanford runners in the lead followed by Bohannon, who is even with Follmer as they come to 600m. Field beginning to string out as they come to 800m at 2:18.3. Field still strung out with Lambie of Stanford leading followed by teammate Follmar. Lambie looks back for her teammate as she extends her lead. NAU’s Rosenplaenter moves to third on the inside at 1,000m.3:28.5 split at 1,200m by Lambie. Follmar still in second, followed by Rosenplaenter. Rosenplaenter makes move for second with 100m to go but Follmar holds her off. Leaders finish as they came around the 1,300 mark. Lambie followed by Follmar and Rosenplaenter.
Heat 1: BYU out to the lead at the first 200m. Field tight together,
Heat 2: UCLA out to the lead off the start, passed by Stanford’s Steier at 100m. Rotinski in second, followed by
1:00 M 4x100 Prelims:
Heat 1: Northern Arizona out first, USC Trojans passing NAU on the 200m leg. Arizona and Oregon hand off clean and out to the lead in the third leg, USC anchor Lionel Larry passes Oregon’s Jared Huske and Arizona’s Xiong Xuehan down stretch. USC wins heat.
Heat 2: CS Northridge out to the early lead, ASU’s Kelvin Love catches up on the 200m leg. Lanes 4-7 together in the third 100m into the anchor, Sacramento State and Fullerton on the outside, leading a tight pack. Sacramento State’s Raphael McFarlane edges Fullerton’s Maurice Chappell at the line.
