Hildahl Tied for 11th in OGA Day 2 Qualifying
PORTLAND, Ore. ? University of Oregon freshman Kate Hildahl finished Tuesday’s second and final day qualifying tied for 11th place in the 98th Oregon Golf Amateur Championship Monday, hosted by Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
The Tualatin, Ore., native shot a second 79 Tuesday on the par-72, 5,991-yard course and ended in a five-way tie for 11sth place.
Hildahl carded three birdies on the day in the opening nine holes on the par-5 first and third holes, and also birdied the par-4 ninth hole. She added par on eight other holes, including six of the seven pins between the 11th and 17th holes.
Hildahl opened the day in 10th place after she shot an 80 Monday.
Overall Tuesday, Kristen Svicarovich (78-71) moved into a tie with first-day leader and former Duck coach Lara Tennant (74-75) atop the leader board at 149. Danielle Ranallo (80-75-155) and Jillian Ferrante (78-78-156) followed in third and fourth places, respectively.

This past collegiate season, Hildahl played 10 events for the Ducks and led the squad in four of her final 11 rounds of the spring, and averaged an 80.0 score in her 26 rounds of play, including two, 1-over 73’s. She registered two, top-30 efforts in the spring in the Baja Classic (29th-tie, 157) and Duck Invitational (21st-tie, 237).
Second day and final day stroke play qualifying action continues Tuesday.
On the men’s side, Duck Derek Sipe shot a 65 second round to end with a two-round 137 Tuesday and ranked second behind Mitchell Gillis (first, 69-68-137).
