This weekend will mark a couple of celebrations for the Oregon track and field and cross country programs. At the football game versus Stanford on Saturday, the Ducks' 2008 Pac-10 Championship men's track & field team and the 2008 Pac-10 Championship men's cross country team will be honored on the field during the break between the first and second quarters.
It was the fourth championship in the last six season for the track program, while the cross country team won their third straight league title.
Also this weekend, one of the great women's runners in program history, Camara Jones, is being inducted into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame. She was a member of the United States' 1995 world championship relay team, and set the Pac-10 record in winning the 400 meters twice. She was the last Duck to win that event until Keshia Baker broke through last season in Tempe. To read more about Jones, check out the offical Athletics Hall of Fame release.
