Quartet Ranked Top Four in Pac-10 Rankings
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ? In the sixth edition of the Pacific-10 Conference wrestling rankings announced this week, four Ducks held their top-four ranked positions among the 10 weight classes.
Redshirt junior Ryan Dunn (133, third) claimed UO’s highest ranking, with three others ranked fourth - redshirt sophomores Kyle Bounds (157, fourth) and Ron Lee (fourth, 174) and redshirt freshman Charlie Alexander (heavyweight, third).
Compared to the most recent rankings, redshirt junior Jeremy McLaughlin (149, fifth) improved a position, and UO’s five remaining wrestlers held last week’s positions - redshirt senior Joey Lucas (125, sixth), redshirt juniors Cody Moulton (141, sixth), sophomore Zack Frazier (165, sixth) and seniors Marcus Myers (184, 10th) and Shaun Dee (197, eighth).
Overall, Boise State freshman 184-pounder Kirk Smith was the only change among the 10 top-ranked seeds, and the entire list follows: senior Tanner Gardner, Stanford (125), junior T.J. Dillashaw, Cal State Fullerton (133), senior Chad Mendes, Cal Poly (141), senior Morgan Atkinson, Cal State Fullerton (149), junior Tyler Sherfey, Boise State (157), senior Patrick Pitsch, Arizona State (165), sophomore Nate Lee, Boise State (174), senior Ian Murphy, Cal State Fullerton (184), senior Jason Trulson, Arizona State (197) and junior Wade Sauer, Cal State Fullerton (285).
