Women Look to Face Purdue Sunday

EUGENE, Ore.,-- After six consecutive home matches, the women’s tennis team (4-2) faces No. 44th Purdue this Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Student Tennis Center. Led by solo senior Anna Powaska the Ducks also prepare for their four match road trip coming up after Sunday’s match.
Anna Powaska is currently 5-1 in singles and continues to carry the team on her shoulders with her senior experience. Newcomer Stephanie Macfarlane has been a pleasant surprise for the Ducks also tracking a record of 5-1 in singles. One freshman to keep your eye on is Celine Rolly who is playing in the No. 1 spot and has tallied a record of 4-2.
Purdue is currently ranked No.44 and recently defeated No. 66 Western Michigan 6-1 Tuesday Feb. 12. Senior Brooke Beier also knocked off a No. 98 Kerstin Pahl of Western Michigan in singles play. Purdue also looks to take on Washington while in the Northwest.
