Little & UO Leads Duck Invite After Two Rounds

EUGENE ? After Monday morning's opening two rounds of the Duck Invitational, University of Oregon freshman women’s golfer Kendra Little continued to hold the individual lead by one stroke with a one-under 143 (70-73), while the No. 43 Duck women also led the field by one stroke (297-309-306).
UC Davis followed in second place (302-305-607), ahead of No. 50 Washington State (third, 304-308-612) at the Eugene Country Club.
No. 54 Washington (309-306) and No. 15 California (314-301) stood in a tie for fourth place at 615, and were followed by Idaho (sixth-tie, 310-309-619) and Colorado (sixth-tie, 308-311-619), Oregon State (eighth, 316-306-622) and Wyoming (ninth, 308-325-633).
The 15-team field was rounded out by Texas-San Antonio (10th-tie, 315-322-637), Minnesota (10th-tie, 323-314-637), Montana (12th-tie, 316-323-639), Portland State (12th-tie, 318-321-639), Oregon's 'B' team (14th, 326-318-644) and Long Beach State (15th, 327-330-657).
Little took the lead on the par 72, 6,052-yard course in the first round of Monday’s opener with her five birdies on the back nine (10th, 13th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes), contrasting her front nine that included three bogeys (third, fourth and seventh holes).
In the second round, the local product out of Sheldon High School Little opened with a pair of pars (first, fourth), birdies (third, sixth) and bogeys (second, fifth). On the final 12 holes, she carded nine more par scores en route to a one-over 73, and her only other scores were a bogey-par-bogey on the 10th-11th and 12th holes.
In the individual standings, Amy Eneroth of Washington State followed in second place (75-72-144), three strokes ahead of teammate Jessica Black (third, 75-72-147).
Oregon had two other members from its main team entry finish top 15 overall ? junior Cathryn Bristow (11th-tie, 75-77-152) and sophomore Felicia Eastick (15th-tie, 75-78-153) ? and its other entries for that squad tied for 41st overall, sophomore Kate Hildahl (79-81-160) and freshman Erica Omlid (77-83-160).
The Ducks also had a second team entry, which was led by junior Blair Ressler (11th-tie, 77-75-152). Other entries included senior Victoria Wenslow (31st-tie, 80-77-157), freshmen Monika Graf (60th-tie, 80-85-165) and Tiffany Schoning (75th-tie, 89-81-170) and sophomore Cathleen Ward (80th, 92-94-186).
In Monday morning’s opening round, Little shot a 2-under 70 to help the Ducks own a five-stroke advantage with its 297 in the 15-team tourney.
UC Davis followed five strokes back (302), ahead of No. 50 Washington State (third, 304), Colorado and Wyoming (fourth-tie, 308), No. 54 Washington (sixth, 309) and Idaho (seventh, 310).
Little ended the first round with a two-stroke advantage over Eneroth and Katie Sisler of UC Davis (second-tie, 72).
