The Ducks will play St. Bonaventure at 1 p.m. PST on Wednesday, and will enjoy three days off before heading to Colgate for a 9 a.m. PST game on Sunday.

Links to both sites will also be available on www.GoDucks.com.
SCALING THE RANKINGS
Oregon currently has a 7-3 record, with two of those losses registering by just one goal. The Ducks, who climbed into the Inside Lacrosse Women’s Media Poll on Feb. 25, have been ranked the last four weeks, currently settling at No. 14 in the nation. Currently neither St. Bonaventure or Colgate are ranked.
SERIES HISTORY
Oregon is making the return trip to St. Bonaventure after hosting the Bonnies in Eugene last year, when the Ducks prevailed 13-10 in the first ever meeting between the two programs.
The meeting between Oregon and Colgate will be the fourth consecutive for the two programs. The Raiders are the only non-conference opponent Oregon has played in each of its four seasons of existence. Colgate won the first two meetings, but the Ducks picked up their first victory over the Raiders, 16-11, in Eugene last season.
ST. BONAVENTURE TIDBITS
The Bonnies enter this week with a 1-4 record after a 13-6 loss to No. 20 Ohio State last Sunday. Brenna Houghton leads the team with 12 goals and nine assists. The Bonnies other three losses have come to Marist, Delaware and Albany. St. Bonaventure scored its first win of the year with an 11-10 nailbiter over Canisius.
COLGATE TIDBITS
Colgate currently holds on to a 4-6 record in 2008, entering this week on a two-game winning streak after victories over Marist and Navy. Colgate has also defeated La Salle and Holy Cross this season.
The Raiders and Ducks have yet to play any similar opponents, but Colgate did play Oregon’s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Denver, falling 20-14 in Colorado on March 16.
Colgate has numerous options on offense as five different players have already tallied double-digit goals, led by Brie Moran’s 25.
CLOSE ONES
Oregon’s one-goal loss to John Hopkins last Saturday was the fifth game the team has played this year that has been decided by just one score. Surprisingly the Ducks avoided overtime in all of those contests, and have a 3-2 record as well.
The Ducks’ first game of the year was an 8-7 loss at Stanford, but Oregon posted three one-goal victories after that heartbreaker, defeating Virginia Tech (14-13), No. 11 Notre Dame (14-13) and Temple (10-9).
FINDING BALANCE
Oregon’s offensive attack has been so successful this season because of the numerous options on the field for the Ducks.
Currently six different players have put double-digit goals in the back of the net, led by junior Ilsa van den Berg with 24. Seniors Jana Bradley and Jen May have 15 apiece, while fellow veterans Theresa Waldron and Lindsay Killian, have 14 and 13 each, respectively. Alex Breiner is the only underclassmen in that group with 14 of her own, coming off the bench the majority of the time. Another stellar sub for Oregon, junior Casey Rector, needs just two more scores to reach double figures.
THE ROOKIES
Freshman Alex Breiner is having a substantial rookie season for Oregon. The Alexandria, Va., native, is tied for third on the squad with 14 goals scored this year. Breiner has played in all 10 games for Oregon this year, penetrating the starting lineup for the Ducks twice.
Anna Swicklik has also made a fine first impression, providing four goals and six assists early on. The Baltimore, Md., native has played in nine games and has made eight starts. NUMBERS DON’T LIE
The key to victory for Oregon this season seems to be based on how many the goals the team can put in the back of the net.
The Ducks are an undefeated 7-0 when scoring 10 goals are more, and are a winless 0-3 when unable to reach double digits.
Possession also seems to play a large role, as the Ducks are an undefeated 4-0 when winning more draw controls than their opponent, and are also 5-1 when they commit less turnovers.
LOOKING AHEAD
While 2008 isn’t even underway yet, the Ducks inked 16 signees for the 2009 class in November. The new class will usher in the second era of Oregon lacrosse, as this year’s senior class departs after playing four years since the inaugural 2005 season. The class has representatives from seven different states, led by Maryland (4) and California (4).
“We are thrilled to welcome this dynamic group of student athletes into our program and anxious to continue building on our solid foundation for the Oregon lacrosse program” head coach Jen Larsen said. “This class brings in a wealth of experience from all across the country and will continue our quest to national excellence on the field and in the classroom.”
