QUICK HITS
Although Oregon was swept in doubles play in both matches last weekend, they still hold a 20-19 doubles record so far in this spring. Oregon has swept the doubles point four times, and won it in seven of 13 matches.
On the season, the 4-6 singles spots hold a 25-13 record. The record at the top three positions is 15-23.
The Ducks won two of three matches that went to a decisive third set last weekend against Denver and Washington. Oregon’s record in three set matches on the season is 5-8.
GETTING TO KNOW PACIFIC
The Pacific Tigers (4-3), coming off a 4-3 loss to Sacramento State on Feb. 24, are making their second road trip of the season. They split their other road trip, beating Northern Arizona 7-0, a team that the Ducks also defeated 7-0, and losing to Arizona 6-1. Oregon will face Arizona later in the Pac-10 season. The Tigers will play Oregon’s rival Washington Sunday, March 9, after their trip to Eugene.
GETTING TO KNOW NEVADA
The Wolfpack (2-5) is making its seventh consecutive road trip to open the season, as they do not have a home match until March 29th. They are coming off a 5-2 win against Utah State on Feb. 23 that snapped a four game losing streak. They will continue up I-5 to play the Portland Pilots on Sunday after facing Oregon.
GETTING TO KNOW PORTLAND STATE
The Portland State tennis team is in its first season since the program was cut in 2002 for budget purposes. They hold a 1-7 record, with their win coming against Linfield College. Their match against Oregon is the first of a three game road trip spanning two weeks.
