Ducks in 14th in West Regional Day 2

SACRAMENTO, Calif. ? The No. 44 University of Oregon women’s golf team enjoyed a four-position improvement Friday in the NCAA West Regional Friday thanks to its second round 297 score.
The Ducks’ two-round tally of 600 (303-297) leaves them only five shots away from eighth place ? the final slot that will advance to the NCAA Championships in two weeks.
Freshman Kendra Little continued to lead the Ducks in the overall standings (13th-tie, 71-75-146), and UO also counted scores Friday from junior Cathryn Bristow (77-73-150) and sophomore Felicia Eastick (76-74-150) who were tied for 44th, and sophomore Kate Hildahl (74th-tie, 79-75-154). Freshman Erica Omlid rounded out the UO contingent (84th, 79-77-156).
No. 2 USC continued to pace the overall team standings (first, 283-288-571), and stood seven strokes ahead of No. 47 UNLV (second, 288-290-578).
Other teams in the top 10 included No. 4 Arizona State (third, 296-285-581), No. 14 Oklahoma State (fourth, 293-293-586), No. 7 Arkansas (fifth-tie, 291-297-588), No. 12 Arizona (fifth-tie, 299-289-588), No. 23 Stanford (seventh, 295-298-593), No. 28 Tulsa (eighth, 287-308-595), UC Davis (ninth-tie, 300-296-596) and No. 18 California (ninth-tie, 295-301-596).
On the individual leaderboard, UNLV’s Therese Koelbaek combined two positions into the lead (69-68-137), and stood three strokes ahead Arizona State’s Azahara Munoz (second, 69-71-140).
Looking ahead, the Ducks return for final day action in Saturday’s final round, and live results will be posted at the www.GolfStat.com website.
In each of the nation’s three regional sites this weekend in Sacramento, Georgia and Texas, the low eight team finishers and low two individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, hosted by New Mexico State University, Tuesday-Friday, May 20-23, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
