Dixon Top VIII Award, 90 All-Academic Honors Highlight 2007-08 Scholastic Year
EUGENE, Ore. ? Dennis Dixon’s NCAA Top VIII Award highlighted the academic accomplishments of the University of Oregon’s student-athletes during the 2007-08 school year.
The past 10 months saw a total of 90
Beyond the league, defensive lineman Nick Reed earned national first team academic All-America honors, while nine student-athletes ? Jen May (women’s at-large/lacrosse), Nicole Blood (women’s track/cross country), Joaquin Chapa (men’s track/cross country), Darcie Gardner (soccer), Scott Wall (men’s track/cross country) Jessie Chatfield (soccer), Nicole Dobrzynski (soccer) and Dixon and Reed -- were named ESPN the Magazine all-academic District 8. Blood and May are still in the balloting process for their respective national academic All-America teams, which will be announced later this month.
