Hildahl and Graf Roll in Oregon Women?s Amateur Opener
BEND, Ore. ? In Monday’s first day action in the 99th Oregon Women’s Amateur tournament, a pair of Duck women’s golfers stood top three in the Bend Golf and Country Club-hosted event.
Sophomore Kate Hildahl shot a two-over 74 and tied for the lead with fellow Tualatin, Ore., native Seshia-lei Telles. Duck freshman Monika Graf followed one stroke back with a 75, and two other team members ? freshman Tiffany Schoning (83) and assistant coach Meredith Jones (86) ? also played Monday.
Former Duck coach Lara Tennant was also in the hunt to advance to match play with her 78 Monday.
The six-day tournament continues with Tuesday’s second and final round of stroke play on the on the par 72, 5,947-yard course.
On Wednesday, June 18, the top 32 players advance to the first round of match play that will continue each day through the final round on Saturday June 21.
