Hildahl and Mills Advance to Amatuer Final

BEND, Ore. ? Sophomore Kate Hildahl staked a pair of wins Friday to advance to Saturday’s 99th Oregon Women’s Amateur match play final.
The Tualatin, Ore., native Hildahl will face former Duck Karly Mills in Saturday’s at the Bend Golf and Country Club-hosted event.
On Friday, Hildahl opened with a 4 and 3 win over Breanne Smith of Canby, then added a 4 and 3 win over former Duck head coach Lara Tennant in the afternoon. Tennant advanced to the semifinal with a 5 and 4 win earlier Saturday vs. Amy Beth Simanton of Lake Oswego.
Mills also won two contests Friday. She took her semifinal, 1 up, over OSU’s Martha Burkard of Alameda, Calif., and her first win of the day was a 4 and 3 semifinal victory over Amanda Jacobs of Portland.
Earlier in the week, Hildahl led Monday and Tuesday’s stroke play qualifying action by two strokes (74-76-150), and finished three strokes ahead of freshman teammate Monika Graf (third, 75-78-153) on the par 72, 5,947-yard course.
