Lacrosse Wraps Up Homestand vs. Colgate on Saturday

EUGENE, Ore. ? The University of Oregon women's lacrosse team will complete its season-long four-game homestand Saturday at Pape' Field, when the Ducks (5-2) host the Colgate Raiders (7-2) at 12 p.m.
The Ducks have won four straight games overall and four in a row at home. Oregon's last loss came more than a month ago on Feb. 20 at North Carolina.
LAX ON THE O-ZONE
As is the case all season long, Sunday's game will be carried on the O-Zone with live streaming video and audio.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Colgate (7-2) is riding a winning streak of its own, having disposed of five straight opponents. The stretch is the Raiders' longest since the 2006 season. On the way to Eugene, Colgate stopped in Moraga, Calif., and dumped Mountain Pacific Sports Federation side St. Mary's, 15-6. The Raiders are out-scoring opponents by an average score of 14.4 to 8.1. Through nine games, Brie Moran leads the Colgate attack with 28 goals. Meghan Lawler has scored 23 to go with 11 assists for a share of the team lead with 34 points. Goalie Sara Drexler has a record of 6-2 and a goals against average of 8.99.

The Ducks and Raiders have faced each other every year since the Oregon program's inception, splitting the four meetings 2-2. UO has won the past two, including an 11-9 road victory last season. Colgate is 1-1 against the Ducks on Pape' Field.
VAN DEN BERG NAMED POTW
Senior attacker Ilsa van den Berg earned the third MPSF player of the week honor of her career for her five-goal, six-point effort in UO's win over Johns Hopkins March 15. Van den Berg equalled her career high for goals in lifting the Ducks to victory. She tallied four of her goals during a second-half comeback, including a stretch of three straight to tie the game 9-9. Her fifth and final goal proved to be the game winner in the 12-10 win. The weekly award was the first by an Oregon player this season.
AUTZEN ADVANTAGE
Due to heavy rain, which caused unplayable conditions on Pape' Field March 15, Oregon moved its game with Johns Hopkins to Autzen Stadium and defeated the traditionally strong women's lacrosse program for the first time in four tries. It was UO's first home game outside of Pape'. Autzen, the home of Oregon football, has also hosted home soccer matches in the past.
CLEAN SHEET
On March 6 against Fresno State, head coach Jen Larsen's team recorded the first shutout in the program's five-year history, downing the Bulldogs 20-0.
J-MAY DAY
Oregon assistant coach Jen Derby (May) was honored on March 13 in Los Angeles as the conference officially recognized the 20 Pac-10 Medal winners from the 2007-08 season. Derby was joined by former UO classmate and Duck quarterback Dennis Dixon, who was Oregon's male representative. A Conference Medal is awarded annually at each member institution to that member's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics, and leadership. The Pac-10 Medal is the highest Conference honor a student-athlete can receive.

Senior Alicia Burkhart is tied for the MPSF lead in ground balls per game, scooping an average of 3.00 per contest ... Freshman Bina Barrett ranks eighth in assists per game (1.14) ... Sophomore Alex Breiner is fifth in shots per game (4.57) ... Freshman Catherine Davidson is 10th in points per game (2.57)and tied for third with two game-winning goals ... Senior goalie Anna Poponyak ranks second in goals against average (9.58) and save percentage (.475).
