Walker's Pace: Both Duck Teams Open Season at No. 3, Webcast for Pepsi

Both Duck Teams Open Season at No. 3, Webcast for Pepsi
Wednesday, March 30, 5:15 p.m. PDT
The first rankings of the 2009 outdoor season have been released by the USTFCCCA, and both the Oregon men and women come in at No. 3. Here's a link to the top-25.
Texas A&M finds itself atop both polls. After the Aggies on the men's side, it's Arkansas, the Ducks, Florida State and Louisiana State. The second five was Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Tennessee and Baylor. In fact, that had the Blog flashing back to its childhood days of Sesame Street with nine of the 10 schools either residing in a Gulf Coast state or an SEC school (and in many cases, both). You have to drop to UCLA at No. 13 to find another school in a zip code that starts with a "9."
The southern flavor continues on the women's side with A&M leading Virginia Tech, Oregon, Tennessee and Penn State. Well, at least the Nitany Lions are another nothern tier institution.
Also, as if you needed another reason to come to the Pepsi Team Invitational besides some great, entertaining track and field in what looks to be pretty decent weather (knock on wood), the 2009 NCAA Indoor national champion men's team and women's All-Americans will be recognized, tentatively sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.
On another note, if you aren't able to make it to Hayward Field and would like to watch this Saturday's Pepsi Team Invitational, you can catch it live beginning at 1 p.m. PDT on both Comcast Sports Net (Channel 37) and the O-Zone on goducks.com.
If you are not already an O-Zone member, here's a link on how to subscribe.
