Walker's Pace: Women Take Over Top Spot in USTFCCCA Poll

For the first time this season, the Women of Oregon have supplanted Texas A&M for the top spot in the USTFCCCA top-25. The Ducks are coming off their first Pac-10 championship in 17 years.
Oregon had champions across the board, including Jamesha Youngblood's
double in the long jump and triple jump, Keshia Baker in the 400
meters, Zoe Buckman at 800 meters, Melissa Gergel in the pole vault,
Rachel Yurkovich in the javelin and Brianne Theisen in the heptathlon.
The Ducks also counted runner-up finishes from Nicole Blood in the
5,000 meters and Lucy Cridland in the discus.
For those wanting to relive Oregon's exciting sweep of the Pac-10 Championships, Fox Sports Net will broadcast the meet tomorrow (Thursday) at 4 p.m. The championships will also be rebroadcast Saturday at 4 p.m. and May 30 at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, after a week at the top, the men flipped spots with Florida. Texas A&M was No. 3 and look who is lurking at No. 4 -- 2009 SEC champion and host of this year's NCAA Championships, Arkansas.
This was the second-to-last poll of the season. The final poll will be June 3 after the NCAA regionals.
Lookng
ahead to the NCAA West Regional, which the Ducks will host May 29-30,
the Ducks have an astounding 75 NCAA Regional marks, plus another 10
national marks in the combined events and 10,000 meters.
