Walker's Pace: Practice and Media Day at the NCAA Championships

Walker's Pace: Practice and Media Day at the NCAA Championships
Tuesday,June 9, 4:15 p.m. PDT
Today was an open practice for the 1,088 men's and women's competitors here in Fayetteville for the 2009 NCAA Track and Field Championships, and Oregon took full advantage of a nice afternoon at the track to get some work in and check the lay of the land at John McDonnell Field.
Clockwise from left, Ashton Eaton, Chad Barlow, Marshall Ackley, Kalindra McFadden and Brianne Theisen had a second to mug for the camera in between workouts.

Also, Tuesday was the traditional day of press conferences and television interviews, and here's an inside look at some of the happenings from Fayetteville.
Vin Lananna joined coaches from Arkansas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Arizona State at the NCAA's press conference on Tuesday.

Afterward, Lananna and Eaton spent some time with CBS' Alanna Campbell. The CBS crew had a real nice set up -- the fancy lighting even makes the Blog's pictures look sharp. Be sure to keep an eye out for these interviews with the Ducks, which will be sprinkled throughout the network's coverage (Friday on CBS College Sports and Saturday on CBS).

For those looking for official heat sheets for the 2009 NCAA Championships, they will be posted sometime this evening at www.ncaa.com.
