Wong Ties for 18th at Pacific Coast Amateur
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Eugene Wong shot his second straight 3-under 69 to finish tied for 18th at the 43rd annual Pacific Coast Amateur played Friday at the 7,468-yard, par-72 Gallery Golf Club.
Wong had rounds of 69-74-69-69 and was at 7-under 281 for the tournament. In the final round, Wong, from North Vancouver, B.C., had an eagle, four birdies, a bogey and a double bogey.
Freshman Andrew Vijarro shot his best round of the tournament, a 4-under 68, to finish tied for 25th at 284. Freshman Robbie Ziegler carded a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 35th at 2-under 286.
Chan Kim shot a 68 to win the tournament at 17-under 271, which was one stroke better than Zach Sucher.
