New Matthew Knight Arena Information Released

EUGENE, Ore. -- Phase II of Matthew Knight Arena’s internet campaign, a printed relocation guide and a new interactive display center located on the second floor of the Casanova Center will soon be made available to the general public according to Jim Bartko, UO’s Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.
“It is important to us that the fans be involved every step of the way,” Bartko said. “We wanted to work closely with them to make this a facility they will be happy with for a long time.”

Phase II of the internet promotion debuts on Monday, Aug. 17, with the arena website, MactoMatt.net (formerly godunks.net). Included in the website is arena information, seat viewers and gifting opportunities. The customary 24-hour webcam, downloadable media and blogs by UO coaches and staff are also incorporated into the new website.
“The website will give the fans a three-dimensional look at what the building will look like in December of 2010,” Bartko said. “It will also give them a first-hand look of their seating options and what the arena will look like from the inside.”
Highlights of the arena information section include video fly-throughs of the arena bowl, concourse level, club rooms and the facility’s exterior. Fifteen different comparison features are also built-in, accenting the differences in restrooms, concourse width, seat size, parking, in addition to many of the other amenities for the new facility. Fans can track the arena’s progress with an interactive timeline which details the past and future development.
MactoMatt.net’s seat viewer section takes the fans into the arena for a virtual look from all four ticketing areas: terrace seating, loge seating, premier seating and student seating. A downloadable seating chart is also available in this section.
The gifting section profiles the expected seating locations of Legacy Fund donors, Duck Athletic Fund donors in the new arena (with and without Mac Court season-tickets), non-DAF donors and UO student body. This section of the website also comes complete with 3D court view renderings.
Note: If fans type in the old URL, godunks.net, they will be re-directed to the MactoMatt.net website.

Over 13,000 basketball, volleyball and football season-ticket holders and DAF donors will receive via mail a 20-page printed Matthew Knight Arena Relocation Guide. In addition, single-game ticket buyers for Duck basketball events will be sent an e-mail with a PDF attachment of the relocation guide.
“We knew it was going to be a process where people had a lot of questions,” Bartko said. “We put together a guide that will hopefully answer a lot of those questions. Fans can also work directly with UO staff members to have any questions answered about the new arena.”
Information detailed in the brochure includes: seat assignment philosophy, Legacy Fund gifts and premium seating, pricing and affordability, amenities and parking, seat maps, seat selection and timeline, gifting opportunities, in addition to many other information pieces.
Some key points outlined in the relocation guide include:
- Single-game ticket prices (excluding courtside seating) for all sports will range from $6 to $35 per game.
- Ticket pricing and minimum annual DAF donation requirements will be frozen for a minimum of 3 years after the arena’s opening.
- Nearly 4,500 seats in the building will be priced at $25 per ticket or less, with no required annual DAF donation.
- All fans will have an opportunity to personally select their seats with a UO staff member, regardless of giving level and longevity.
Also featured in the relocation guide are 3D artist renderings of the arena bowl, concourse, club rooms and exterior of the facility.
A frequently asked questions section and UO Athletics contact information is also included.
-- Matthew Knight Arena Display Center
The Matthew Knight Arena Display Center is scheduled to debut Monday, August 31. The display center is located in the home base for Oregon Athletics, the Casanova Center, and comes complete with several interactive exhibits.
“It was imperative that we have an area where fans can come by and get a first-hand virtual look of where they will sit in the new arena,” Bartko said.
Upon entering the top floor of the Casanova Center, fans will have a chance to see a section devoted to the facility projects that have already been completed. Around the corner in the Hall of Champions, a section will be devoted to 3D renderings and images of Matthew Knight Arena’s seating bowl and other areas of the new facility.
A section of the new arena’s hardwood floor will be laid down in the Hall of Champions, with samples of the new arena’s seats placed adjacently. In this location, fans will be able to sit in the actual seats and view renders that show the angle from any of the arena’s four primary seating sections.
Also included in the display center will be a visual of upcoming projects for Oregon Athletics. Renderings of the John E. Jaqua Academic Learning Center, and future expansion projects for PK Park, Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium will be incorporated.
The Casanova Center’s Dave Sparks Conference Room will be remodeled to include a baseline-view mural of the arena bowl. This visual aid will showcase the steep pitch for the seating in UO’s new facility. A power-point presentation for any potential ticket-buyers will also be based out the conference room.
“Our fans will be able to size-up Matthew Knight Arena and compare it to other new college arenas around the country like at Maryland and Virginia,” Bartko said.
Extra copies of the printed Matthew Knight Arena Relocation Guide will also be available in the new preview center.
