Blog Spot with Kaitlin Pasko
Lacrosse: Hello everyone! My name is Kaitlyn Pasko, I am a senior on the Women’s Lacrosse team and I am from Annapolis Maryland. Today I am going to share an experience with you that many athletes, including myself, participated in this weekend for the first time ever. The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), a committee that consists of 2-3 athletes from each team, put on an event called O-lympics. For the event, multiple team captains were chosen and then had a draft in which they selected different athletes from different teams to be on their team. We came up with creative team names, dressed up in crazy costumes, and competed to see who was the best of the best as a whole. There were events for all sports. For example, there was a chipping challenge, a basketball shooting challenge, and an accuracy test, in which you had to throw a baseball, football, and lacrosse ball through a hula-hoop from certain distances. It was a very fun and competitive event in which we all got to know one another even better! At the end of the event, the winners were announced and awarded with a trophy, which will soon have each team members name engraved on it and put on display in the student athlete lounge! Hopefully this new tradition will carry on in years to come! That’s it for now, next week I will fill everyone in a little more about lacrosse related things and how practice and season is going!! Thanks and go ducks!
