Walker's Pace: Fleet, Women's 4x400 Named Pac-10 Athletes of the Week

Oregon's Mac Fleet and the women's 4x400 meter relay team were selected as this week's Pac-10 track athletes of the week.
Fleet had quite a weekend, with a pair of wins and a runner-up finish on relay teams at the Penn Relays, while the women's 4x400 meter relay squad broke a 15-year-old school record in a runner-up finish at Penn. The women have now broken all four active relay records within the last two months.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: MAC FLEET, OREGON (Fr., San Diego, Calif.).
Fleet ran on three Oregon relay teams that finished first, first and second at the Penn Relays over the weekend. Fleet ran the 800 leg on the winning distance medley relay team in 1:48.04 on Friday. Saturday morning, Fleet ran the lead leg on Oregon’s winning four-mile relay team in 4:03.3. He finished his duties at the Relays by running the second leg of the 4x800 meter relay in
1:47.64, as the Ducks took second in that race. The wins in the DMR and four-mile relay were Oregon’s first in the 116-
year history of the Penn Relays.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: 4x400 METER RELAY TEAM, OREGON.
Oregon broke a 15-year-old school record in the 4x400 meter relay in a second-place finish at the Penn Relays. The Ducks (Jamesha Youngblood, Keshia Baker, Michele Williams, Amber Purvis) ran 3:32.34 to finish behind defending champion University of Technology of Jamaica. Oregon’s time was the second-fastest in the NCAA this season.
