Unfortunately, we greet you without a win under our belts, but we have another chance to prove ourselves tomorrow, so our heads will be held high as we prepare for another round of games.
Although the results weren't what we wanted, we know what we have to do to get different results. As Coach White preaches day-in and day-out, we have to attack the ball both offensively and defensively!
We must understand the difference between playing fearlessly and frantically attacking the ball. The adjustments are within our control, so we still hold the key to our own destiny.
With our backs against the wall, we prepare ourselves tonight for two games Sunday. We have to dig deep within ourselves and leave it all on the field. Everyone has proven themselves worthy of competing in the postseason, but the bottom line is simple: the ones who want it more, will succeed; others will not prevail.
As our former strength and conditioning coach (Coach Pick) always stressed, we must simply "be where we need to be, when we need to be there" to get the job done.
Sunday will determine how badly we want to continue our season. If we come up short, we end our season in Columbia, Missouri; however, if we come out 2 and 0, you will find your Ducks in Oklahoma competing in the Women's College World Series for the first time in a long time.
Stay tuned as we face Mizzou bright and early at 10:00A.M. (PT) Sunday morning. We will leave it all on the field and take it one pitch at a time. Until next time, have a nice day.
Patiently waiting,
UO Softball
