
EUGENE, Ore. -- For the second straight month, the "Tuesdays in Track Town" series will be hosted by the Oregon Electric Station for its upcoming meeting on Tuesday (May 3). The popular restaurant is located at 27 East 5th Avenue in downtown Eugene.
The Electric Station will offer free appetizers, coffee, soda and water beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner entrées and other beverages may also be ordered off the regular menu.
Tuesday's program will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature four University of Oregon student-athletes who will be competing for a Pac-10 championship. Defending Pac-10 1,500 meter champion Matthew Centrowitz and freshman Mike Berry will represent the men, while defending Pac-10 800 meter champion Anne Kesselring and freshman English Gardner will represent the women.
The program will also feature Ben Bruce of Oregon Track Club Elite, who is coming off a strong third-place showing in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational.
Additionally, Associate Athletic Director Vin Lananna will talk about Friday's upcoming big ticket launch for the 2012 Olympic Trials.
"Tuesdays in Track Town" is free and open to the public.
The final "Tuesdays in Track Town" will be a yet-to-be-determined date in June.
