WOODLAND, Calif. – Four Oregon lacrosse players were honored for their work on the field and the classroom by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as the league announced its postseason all-academic team on Wednesday.
Defender Lara Bennett, midfielder Maggie Kovacs, defender Bridget Morrison and defender Callie Wagner each earned the all-academic team selections.
Bennett was a second-team All-MPSF performer during the regular season, helping Oregon post the second-best goals against average in the conference. She maintains a 3.31 grade point average as a human physiology major. This is the second-straight season Bennett has been named academic all-conference.
Kovacs is earning academic All-MPSF honors for the first time in her career. She was the Ducks’ top reserve at midfield and finished the season with 13 points. The sophomore carries a 3.29 grade-point average.
Morrison started all 17 contests on defense for the Ducks and led the squad with 25 ground balls. She holds a 3.30 grade-point average through her sophomore season at UO.
Wagner appeared in 13 games and earned the start in 12 of those contests on defense. She scooped 11 ground balls for the season and maintains a 3.38 grade-point average as a family and human services major. This is her second time earning a spot on the postseason all-academic team.
