Youth Invited to Sign Up for Summer Softball Camps

EUGENE – After guiding the Ducks to their second straight Super Regional trip, the Oregon softball coaching staff now looks forward to three youth camps the next two months.
UO coaches and players will host a pair of two-day camps on Mon.-Tue., July 18-19 and 25-26 with all ages and levels welcome.
The first day of each session will focus on defense (9 a.m.-Noon) and offense (1-4 p.m.) and the second day will emphasize instruction for pitchers and catchers (both from 9 a.m.-Noon).
Players will learn key fundamentals in all aspects of the game, receiving detailed instruction in hitting, bunting, base-running, throwing, and position specific fielding. In addition, players will learn drills the Oregon softball team uses to enhance its game.
The cost for each half-day session is $80, or $150 for a full day of sessions, and camp registration fees do not include food, housing, or transportation (please make these arrangements on your own).
A Fall Elite Camp will follow Friday-Sunday, August 26-28, and is recommended for D-1 caliber high school athletes looking to impress college coaches.
Elite Camp Registration is $207 and limited to 44 participants. A schedule follows for each day - Friday (8/26, 6-8 p.m.), Saturday (8/27, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (lunch 12-1 p.m.)), Sunday (8/28, 9-11 a.m.)
For each camp, each player should bring the following: batting helmet/gloves, glove, bat, sweats, kneepads, athletic clothing, cleats or turf shoes, towel, water bottle, money for snacks and souvenirs, while catchers will need to bring their own gear
Please note that registration fees for each camp do not include food, housing, or transportation. Please make these arrangements on your own.
Registration for each camp is available at the www.GoDucks.com CAMPS link at the top of the main page, or by visiting the http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=204830609 URL address.
The Ducks (42-16, Pac-10: 11-10) come off a third-place tie in the Pac-10 - its best finish since the league expanded to eight teams in 1993 and second-best overall behind its 13-7, runner-up placing in 1989 (also the year of UO’s WCWS trip).
