Little & Omlid Open Action in Oregon Amateur
PORTLAND, Ore. – University of Oregon senior women’s golfers Kendra Little and Erica Omlid
opened action Monday tied for seventh place in the Oregon Amateur Championship, hosted by the Waverley Country Club.
The duo both shot scores of five-over 76 and trailed first-day leader Lindsay Aho of Brush Prairie, Wash., (69) by seven strokes. Eugene native Caroline Inglis followed in second place (70) as the only other player to shoot under par.
Little shot three birdies (#1, 15, 17), 11 par scores (#2-4, 5-11, 13-14), one bogey (#12), two double-bogeys (#5, 16) and one triple-bogey (#18).
Omlid ended with one birdie on the par-3 132-yard sixth hole, 11 pars (#2-4, 7-9, 13-15, 17-18) and six bogeys (#1, 5, 10-12, 16).
The duo and the remainder of the 48-person field return for Tuesday’s final round of stroke play. Afterwards, the top 32 finishers will advance to match play rounds that begin Wednesday and end with Saturday’s 36-hole championship final.
