Duo Advance to Oregon Amateur Match Play Round of 32

PORTLAND, Ore. – University of Oregon senior women’s golfers Erica Omlid and Kendra Little easily advanced in Tuesday’s second and final day of Oregon Amateur Championship stroke play qualifying, hosted at the Waverley Country Club.
Omlid and Little were tied for sixth (76-75-151) and ninth place (76-77-153), respectively, while Eugene entrant Caroline Inglis improved a place and led the overall standings (first, 70-72-142).
Whitney French followed in second place (74-70-144), while first-day leader Lindsay Aho of Brush Prairie, Wash., fell into a tie for third place (69-80-149) with Amy Beth Simanton of Lake Oswego, Ore., (75-74-149).
On Tuesday, Omlid shot three birdies on the par-4 #1, Par-3 #14 and par-5 #18 holes, added eight par scores (#4-6, 8-9, 15-17) and seven bogeys (#2-3, 7, 10-13).
Little added two pars of her own on the par-5 #13 and #18 holes, 11 par scores (#1-2, 6-10, 12, 14-15, 17), three bogeys (#3, 4, 11), one double-bogey (#16) and another triple-bogey (#5).
The duo will be among 32 players that will continue action in Wednesday’s first round of match play.
Little will play Loree McKay of Portland, and Omlid will face Kristin Janins of Bandon, and their first tee times are set for 8:24 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., respectively.
Action will continue each day this week and will be capped by Saturday’s 36-hole championship final.
